If you are true in your deeds and relationships,

as true as we can humanly be,

then there is no need to speak of it. It is already known.

Be aware of those who repeatedly tell you of their honesty and accomplishments.

Watch those spirits very closely because

they use words as a distraction from their true essence and purpose.

Like most Web 2.0 areas, social media marketing is not a very well defined or even understood marketing tool. The so called experts have seemed to latch into one or two areas, learned how to use them and hand the word expert on the back end of there name and off they go. Dare I say there are no long term experts only people running ahead of the pack. Truth is we are all running not just to catch up but to keep up it this evolving web world. What was once true 6 months ago has changed. E-mail, social and mobile marketing, blogs, continue to evolve as a tool to find ways to use.

SM is only one tool to use but an easy one to use in a multi channel attack is easier to careate with web based marketing. How easy is it to take your message and e-mail, blog, twit, go mobile, post on a ning or facebook, all with the twinkling of an eye.

Multichannel marketing is not a fad but has been around for years in the traditional marketing advertising world. It was just a little slower.

Larson note: Your marketing needs to be thought of as a symphony. Violins, cellos, horns, trumpets oboes. Each element is part of the process. One does not negate the other. Learning and using Web 2.0 marketing tactics does not or should not stop you from looking at trade show marketing, direct mail, telemarketing attack, an ad in a newspaper or magazine, putting in a classified ad in the paper and/or Craig’s list. Singularly you have a solo, if done in concert together you have a symphony.

keep in mind that everything I put down here my company can and does offer but these are also for the most part things that an audacious business owner could be doing for themselves if they have the time, and time is probally the most precious commodity.

Enoch.. you pick 1 and only 1.

Learn it. How it works and doesnt work. Use it as close to 100% as you possibly can. Once that is achieved add a 2nd and go thorugh the same process. The key is not how many tools you use but how many tools you use that you can max out. For most people 3 areas is the maximum number of tools they can handle on a personal level.

You marketing guru's have me beat because I am running as fast as I can to stay in the same place.

Symphonic marketing is way more involved than merely "taking your message and e-mail, blog, twit, go mobile, post on a ning or facebook, all with the twinkling of an eye."

Symphonic marketing requires maintainance, consistancy, continuity of purpose, constant monitoring, replying and updating. Symphony marketing consisting of "e-mail, blog, twit, go mobile, post on a ning, facebook, etc. equates into too many irons in the fire for my energy level.

Truth is I feel so overwhelmed, just trying to catch up. It's enjoyable. I'm learning to find what works best, what gets results and to simply disregard the rest. Just like all relationships:)
